Christmas Events Hello everyone, I would like to remind you about our closing dates over the Christmas period. The nursery will close on Christmas eve-Friday 24th December 2021 at 2 pm and the nursery will reopen on Tuesday 4th January 2022. As part of our Christmas celebrations, we would like to invite the children to wear Christmas clothes throughout the whole of December.Christmas lunch is on Wednesday 8th December for the children who attend a Wednesday.We have two party days for the children on Friday 10th December and Thursday 16th December between 2 pm- 4 pm. There will be party food, games and a visit from Santa. We would like to invite Butterfly and Rainbow room parents to attend our ‘Christmas carols under the lights’ on 20th December 2021 at 2:30 pm. The carols will be outside and may I ask for only two adults to attend per child. The nursery will provide refreshments and a raffle. Children Spa Day
Children Spa Day This morning, our Rainbow children have had a relaxing time at their own Spa! The children took turns in having their feet soaked in our foot spa with bath bombs and bubble bath having their hands and feet massaged, their nails painted and we lay down on beds to listen to some relaxing spa music, complete with cucumber eye masks! (Although we much preferred eating the cucumber than having them on our eyes!) What a lovely, relaxing morning!
Happy Lunar New Year
Happy Lunar New Year This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year.In the Butterflies room we have been painting to make some fans and sticking to make some lanterns. We also did some noodle play, the children loved feeling the texture of the noodles.
Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day As an early Valentine’s treat for their loved ones, our Butterflies children have been making trifles. They smashed up the biscuits and layered them between yoghurt and strawberries to create a yummy dessert.

Great Barr Fire Station visits Smart Start Day Nursery Our Rainbow children have had an amazing morning with a visit from the fire fighters from Great Barr fire station. As part of our People Who Help Us topic, we have been learning all about how fire fighters help us. We talked about how they help us put out fires, rescue us from cars and even help us when he are finding it hard to swim! We looked at all of the different tools that were in the truck such as saws and helmets and the hose which we all had a turn at using! A massive thank you to the fire fighters at Perry Barr for taking time out of their day to visit us!
Queen Jubilee Parents Workshop
Queen Jubilee Parents Workshop As part of our celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we hosted our own Jubilee afternoon tea We had a fantastic afternoon making our own crowns, working on our fine motor skills, chalking, and creating jubilee themed skewers. It was a beautiful afternoon, even the sun came out for us! A big thank you to our wonderful parents for attending! It was lovely to see you all
Rainbows at Ash End Farm
Rainbows at Ash End Farm Rainbows had a fantastic time at Ash End Farm yesterday The children had an amazing day learning all about the animals on the farm which links into their September topic. They took part in feeding the animals, going on a tractor ride, holding the chicks, choosing their own egg to take home and exploring the playground!

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week This week in Rainbows, our pre-schoolers have had their own pamper morning. The children soaked their feet in warm bubbly water, had a refreshing cucumber eye mask, received foot and hand massages and had our nails painted.
